As your secretary, I have several goals that I hope to accomplish during my term. My first goal is to improve communication. Effective communication is communication between two or more persons with the purpose of delivering, receiving, and understanding the message successfully. To advocate for the Arc of the Shoals, we must be intentional with how we reach our current members and prospective members. We must also remember that our purpose is to share and meet the Arc of the Shoals mission which is, The Arc of the Shoals is committed to securing for all people with developmental disabilities(DD), the opportunity to choose and realize their goals of where and how they learn, live, work and play.”
My second goal is to recruit members. This means recruiting our current members to be more involved and widening our current network. We do that by establishing relationships, attending meetings/events,
serving/volunteering, and making our presence known. Prior to being on the Board of Directors, I felt my membership was just writing a $10 check. Being a member should be much more than that, and I encourage you to share your ideas on how we may improve
My third goal of my term is to provide multiple ways to stay connected to the Arc of the Shoals. Please follow our social media accounts and Remind messages.
